Force Plate Assessments
Precision Movement Analysis for Better Recovery and Performance
Guesswork has no place in serious rehab. At Baysictechnique Physiotherapy in Mount Druitt, we use KINVENT force plate technology to objectively measure strength, balance, power and movement patterns, real numbers instead of eyeball estimates.
Traditional assessment relies on what a clinician can see. A force plate assessment shows what is actually happening: which leg is doing the work, how much power you produce, and whether you are genuinely ready to return to sport.
What Is a Force Plate Assessment?
A force plate measures the forces your body generates during movement. Standing, squatting, jumping, hopping and balance tasks are performed on KINVENT plates while the system records accurate, real-time data on how your muscles, joints and nervous system work together.
That data exposes weaknesses, left-to-right asymmetries and movement inefficiencies that observation alone can miss, and it gives us a baseline to measure every stage of your recovery against. For return-to-sport decisions especially, comparing your injured side against your uninjured side, and against your own baseline, is far safer than relying on how the knee or ankle feels on the day.
Why Objective Testing Changes Your Rehab
Force plate testing objectively measures strength and power, detects side-to-side asymmetries, assesses balance and stability, and tracks rehabilitation progress with hard numbers. That makes return-to-sport decisions safer, identifies injury risk factors early and shows athletic performance improvements in black and white.
It is especially valuable for ACL and knee rehabilitation, ankle and hip injuries, post-operative recovery, balance and falls prevention in older adults, NDIS participants needing functional assessments, and athletes chasing performance. The results feed directly into your
exercise program and our
strength and conditioning training.
What Happens at Your Assessment
Your physiotherapist takes you through a series of guided tests on the plates, tailored to your injury, sport or goals. Nothing is left to interpretation, the software scores each test as you go. You then sit down together and review the findings: where you are strong, where you are lagging and exactly what to train next.
Retesting at intervals through your rehab at our Mount Druitt clinic turns recovery into something you can see improving, which does wonders for motivation as well as decision-making.
Athletes and everyday clients travel to our Mount Druitt clinic from across Western Sydney for KINVENT testing, because very few local practices offer objective force plate assessment, and once you have trained with real numbers it’s hard to go back to guesswork.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who should get a force plate assessment?
Anyone recovering from a lower limb injury or surgery, athletes preparing to return to sport, older adults working on balance, and NDIS participants needing objective functional assessments all benefit from force plate testing.
How long does the assessment take?
A full KINVENT assessment with results review typically fits inside a standard physiotherapy appointment. Retests during rehab are quicker.
What do I wear for the testing?
Comfortable clothes you can move in, the same as a gym session. The tests involve standing, squatting, jumping and balance tasks.
Is force plate testing covered for NDIS participants?
Force plate assessments can form part of NDIS physiotherapy where functional measurement supports your goals. Contact us with your plan details and we will confirm what applies to you.
