Client Spotlight ✨ - @sandraashamon Sandra was Client Spotlight ✨ - @sandraashamon

Sandra was referred to me by Professor Leo Pinczewski following a meniscectomy (removal/clean up of a torn meniscus)

Sandra is a prime example of the powers of pre-hab. Before going to surgery she had full range, significant strength and great neuromuscular connection. This in combination with an awesome team allows her to excel in her recovery and ditch those crutches 🩼 early!

Week 1: Restoring full range.
- Towel assisted passive range of motion exercises
- Manual therapy and dry needling

Week 2: Functional movements and advanced isometric quad loading
- Sitting to standing: simple yet functional to incorporate range and lower limb strength
- isometric contractions with external perturbations: great way to challenge the quads without irritation

Follow to keep track of Sandra’s journey of returning back to the gym and oztag!

Why You Should Do Dynamic Stretching Before Runnin Why You Should Do Dynamic Stretching Before Running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Dynamic stretches like hip swings, side lunges, and triple extensions are key to improving your running game! Here’s why:

Loosens Up Tight Muscles: Movements like hip swings open up your hips and legs, making sure you’re flexible and ready to move freely.

Increases Range of Motion: Side lunges stretch your muscles and joints, allowing you to take longer, smoother strides.

Boosts Power: Triple extensions (stretching your ankles, knees, and hips together) build power for explosive movements, making each step faster and stronger.

Get your body moving before hitting the road, and you’ll run more efficiently while lowering the risk of injury! 👟✨

1 - Foam rolling the lats: This exercise can reduce tension on the muscles that can restrict overhead shoulder movement. Release this will make your shoulder feel more free!

2 - External rotation at 0 is a good way to strengthen and activate the rotator cuff muscles in order to strengthen and prime them for increased stability of the shoulder.

3 - External rotation at 90 is key for any overhead movement. This will allow you to stay strong in more vulnerable positions of the shoulder. This is where most injuries occur!
